It is with sadness that the family of Ethel van Gogh announces her death at York Care Centre on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the age of 87. Born in Fox River, NS, on July 15, 1934, she was the wife of Jacobus van Gogh of Oromocto.
In addition to her husband, Jacobus, she leaves her daughter, Debi Huntingford (Rick); stepson, Jacob Jeffery van Gogh; grandchildren, James (Rachelle) and Gregory; great grandchildren, Antony, Lara, Scarlet, Reed, Hannah, and Lily; daughter-in-law, Cheryl; several nieces, nephews and cousins and extended family in Holland. Ethel was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Saphronia (Leary) Vaughan; first husband Evert Kelderman, son, Richard; brothers, Owen and Guy; sisters, Bertha, Amy, Anne, Mary, and Ida.
Ethel led a wonderful and happy life. She was a teacher who left lasting memories to the children she taught. She loved to travel and visited many countries around the world. She was an artist and produced many beautiful paintings. She loved music and dancing especially the polka. Most of all she loved her family. Her smile was contagious. She was a beautiful soul and was loved by all!
A family gathering will be held at a later time. For those who wish, donations in Ethel’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Debi, Many great memories with my Aunt Ethel and family. Yourself, Rick, Aunt Ethel and Uncle Evert were our only family here in Canada and we cherished our time together.
One of our favorite memories was when my Mom (Tante Hennie) Aunt Ethel Dianne and I traveled to Cuba for a sunny winter vacation. I never seen so many smiles and laughter.
Lots of love and hugs,
John and Dianne
