It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jan (Munro) Walters of Fredericton, NB at her home on Monday, April 18, 2022. Born in Canning, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Laurie and Madeline (Munro) Banks and beloved wife of the late Harvey Walters.
Mom was a sweet woman who was liked by everyone. She wanted to do everything and tried her hands at many things. She was a bank teller for years and then branched out into her own business. She decorated cakes for weddings and birthdays. She even went to school to take interior design. If she wanted to do it she did, the rest of us were just along for the ride.
Christmas was her favorite time and she loved to prank all of us in one way or another. She planned ahead for birthdays and thought of others ahead of herself. She was a person who provided for others and gave to charities generously.
Jan will be in our hearts forever and greatly missed by her daughters, Lori Legge (Ken) of Fredericton, NB, Christina “Tina” Carroll (Wayne Hicks) of Maccan, NS and Rosmary Goddard (Chris) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Michael Legge (Lauren), Stephen Carroll (Kim Reid), Melanie Legge (Mitch Dickinson) and Olivia Goddard; great grandchildren, Jaxon Legge, Jorja and Jensen Dickinson as well as many wonderful friends and extended family members. While she was our mother, she was also our friend and our lives will be very different without her.
Besides her husband, Harvey and her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved grandmother, Abigail (Rogers) Munro.
There will be no visitation or service at Jan’s request.

If only we had listened more ! I remember how she loved Christmas and the whole house was so welcoming . I know how much you loved her and what a great mom and friend she was .I hope all your wonderful memories keep her alive in your hearts .

My friend how sad I was to read your obituary! We met over the phone, then I was lucky enough to be your caregiver and then back to our phone relationship when I went back to work in the office! You were a breath of fresh air! Your first words to me when we met was can you make an egg salad sandwich? I said I haven’t had any complaints and we went from there! I loved sharing dog stories of our new puppies with you, my new granddaughter and shopping for a special pair of earrings! Heaven has gained a skilled price is right game player ! Till we meet again! My condolences to all of her family, you were so loved and spoke of often!

I was so saddened and shocked when I picked up the paper today and read Janet’s obituary. My condolences to all her family as she dearly loved you all. I was a caregiver for Janet over the past two years up until the end of November 2021 when she gave up her contract with Bayshore and was moving. I did have phone conversation after she got settled into Shannex. I so enjoyed our relationship as we shared many good times and laughs. She had such grace and kindness. I used to say to her, “I love coming here as there isn’t a day that I come that I don’t learn something from you”. She never ceased to amaze me with all the things she had done and could do. Heaven has received another gem. I had previously met Lori and Rosemary before as they used to attend our dance class. My deepest sympathy to all.
