With sadness in their hearts, the family of Marion Pauline (Wood) Meloche announces her passing on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Shannex Nursing Home in Fredericton. Born in Ripples, NB on February 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Mae Wood, and the loving wife of the late Paul Emile Meloche, who called Marion his Queen and always kept her happy.
Marion was the kindest woman with the biggest heart. For a number of years, she owned and operated a lottery booth in Brookside Mall with her husband, Paul. However, for much of her career, she was a care-giver in the private health care sector and had many wonderful clients over the years. Her passion for helping others spilled beyond her career. She was a very selfless person, and would do anything for her anyone. For many years she was the “mom” to a number of neighborhood children and there was one little boy named Mike Hoyt, who held a special place in her heart. Her own children adored her and she was a wonderful mother. She was very close to her sister Betty and they loved baking together, going to yard sales, wrestling matches, and the stock-car races. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be terribly missed by all.
She will be forever in the hearts of her adoring children, Corinne Boone of Toronto, ON, Toni Mitchell (Mike) of Waasis, NB, Pat Meloche (Jeanine) of Kingsley, NB; her loving grandchildren Tiffaney (Skylor), Kayla, Mikey and Emilie (Eric), Celina; her precious great grandchildren, Riley, Jackson, Lilly, Noah and Isabel; her surviving siblings, Chuck Wood (Ellen) of Fredericton, and Betty Fairley of Marysville, NB, as well as her extended family and friends.
In addition to her mother and husband, Marion was predeceased by her son Kevin Boone (Colleen), and her little angel, infant, great grandson Jasper.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Modern Celebrations and Cremations in Fredericton. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Marion’s memory to the Alzheimer’s society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.moderncremation.ca
